Project Overview
This project involved the delivery of a long-term construction timelapse and monitoring solution for RM Developments, capturing the full start-to-finish build of the Airlie Beach Super Retail Centre.
Designed to provide both operational visibility and marketing value, the system enabled consistent documentation of the construction process while supporting stakeholder communication and promotional outputs throughout the project lifecycle.
Timelapse System & Capture Approach
Dedicated timelapse cameras were strategically installed on the southeast corner of the project site, providing a clear and consistent vantage point across the full construction footprint.
- Continuous operation from Monday to Saturday, between 5:30 am and 5:00 pm
- Interval image capture every 20 minutes
- Automated daily uploads for near real-time access
- Stable long-term camera positioning to ensure consistency across all build phases
Over the duration of the project, this resulted in:
- Approximately 11,900+ high-resolution images captured
- 406.6GB of construction data recorded
- 3,266 active capture hours across the build timeline
Data Delivery & Dashboard Integration
A custom project dashboard was implemented to provide stakeholders, shareholders, and project teams with real-time access to the evolving build.

Additional Capture & Retail Fitout Photography
In addition to the long-term timelapse system, we provided aerial progress photography throughout key construction stages, capturing the site’s development from a broader perspective.
Upon completion, we also delivered commercial photography of the finished retail fitouts, including the final store environments for BCF and Supercheap Auto. These images were produced for marketing, leasing, and commercial portfolio use, ensuring the completed spaces were captured to a high professional standard.
Final Deliverables
The project concluded with the delivery of a two-minute construction timelapse montage, showcasing the full progression of the site from initial works through to completion.
This final output serves as both a high-impact promotional asset and a comprehensive visual record of the project’s development.

The project provided RM Developments with a reliable long-term monitoring solution and a complete visual timeline of the build, supporting both project transparency and ongoing marketing efforts.
