Project Overview

Fortunato Hamilton Island is a brand-new six-bedroom luxury holiday home on the island’s northern point, and TDM was engaged to capture it in full. The brief covered full property photography, videography, and aerial drone capture across the home’s interiors, entertaining spaces, and water views.

Hamilton Island Holiday Homes brought TDM in because they wanted more than a standard property video. As one of the largest and newest builds on the island, Fortunato was always going to be a showpiece — the brief called for imagery built to match that status rather than a straightforward walkthrough.

Fortunato sits directly adjacent to Hamilton Island’s active runway and controlled airspace, so all drone work was planned and flown under CASA-compliant protocols coordinated with the airport. The shoot needed to work around live flight operations without compromising coverage of the property.

About the Property

Hamilton Island Holiday Homes manages a portfolio of holiday rental properties across the island, from apartments through to architect-designed luxury homes. Fortunato is one of the newest additions to that portfolio — a six-bedroom, six-bathroom home built for up to 16 guests, with a heated plunge pool, sauna, ice bath, and multi-sport court, set on the island’s tranquil northern end with views over Whitsunday Island and Fitzalan Passage.

Production Scope

  • Full interior and exterior photography across all six bedrooms, living, and entertaining spaces
  • Lifestyle and detail photography of the home’s designer interiors and outdoor entertaining areas
  • Drone and aerial capture flown under CASA-compliant protocols adjacent to Hamilton Island’s active runway
  • Videography covering the property’s layout, water views, and standout features
  • All assets delivered high-resolution and web-optimised for Hamilton Island Holiday Homes’ booking platform and marketing channels

On Location

The shoot ran across multiple days with a five-person crew: lead photographer, project manager, lead cinematographer, colourist, and chief aerial drone pilot. Each day started with a 3am crew call to have gear and positions set before first light.

Conditions on arrival were tougher than forecast, with sustained winds of 22 knots and stronger gusts working against the aerial capture. TDM’s chief drone pilot worked the available windows between gusts to bring back clean footage despite the conditions. Photography and video were captured across sunrise, sunset, and multiple points through the day to match natural light to each room and space.

Outcome

Hamilton Island Holiday Homes now has a complete media asset library for Fortunato that captures both the property’s design and its position on the island’s exclusive northern end. The imagery is built to work across the booking platform, marketing collateral, and social channels.

For TDM, this project demonstrates the ability to deliver photography, videography, and drone capture inside genuinely restricted airspace — coordinating around live runway operations without compromising the shoot.
