Project Overview
TDM was engaged by PlayCo to capture the completed installation of a new playground facility on Hamilton Island — one of Australia’s most iconic resort destinations in the heart of the Whitsundays. The brief called for a comprehensive completion media package: ground-level photography and video alongside drone and aerial coverage, delivering a full visual record of the finished facility for PlayCo’s marketing team.
A playground installation on Hamilton Island is a marquee project. The setting demanded imagery that matched the quality of both the product and the location — and with controlled commercial airspace adjacent to Hamilton Island Airport in play, this shoot required more than just strong creative execution.

Controlled Airspace Operations
Aerial filming on Hamilton Island required operating within controlled commercial airspace directly adjacent to Hamilton Island Airport. TDM holds a specialised ReOC (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator’s Certificate) drone licence, enabling compliant operations in complex and highly regulated airspace environments.
This project required close coordination with aviation stakeholders and strict adherence to operational approvals — ensuring safe, compliant aerial operations while capturing the high-value visual data the client needed. It’s the kind of shoot that simply can’t be executed without the right credentials and planning. TDM’s ReOC certification made it possible.
